In computer graphics, the rendering of shading, mist, texture, etc., may require the generation of shading-oo in image luminace or chrominance. This can be mathematically modeled as the construction of a gradual numeric function from a partially deened function. The Lips-chitz condition is an appropriate requirement for gradualness of a function; futhermore it has the advantage of being deened in both the Euclidian and digital spaces. In this paper, we review the structure of the set of Lipschitz functions deened on a metric space E, and then we examine methods for extrapolating a Lipschitz function on a subset S of E to a Lipschitz function on E. Two approaches are considered: rst the use of lattice-theoritical operations from mathematical morphology, and second the solution of an integral equation for a nite Borel measure on S when S is compact. This theory can be applied to the design of algorithms for generating gradual colour ranges in synthetic images. la g en eration de d egrad es dans la luminace ou la chrominance d'une image.

POINT DERIVATIONS ON BANACH ALGEBRAS OF α-LIPSCHITZ VECTOR-VALUED OPERATORS

The Lipschitz function algebras were first defined in the 1960s by some mathematicians, including Schubert. Initially, the Lipschitz real-value and complex-value functions are defined and quantitative properties of these algebras are investigated. Over time these algebras have been studied and generalized by many mathematicians such as Cao, Zhang, Xu, Weaver, and others. Let  be a non-emp...

Quasicompact and Riesz unital endomorphisms of real Lipschitz algebras of complex-valued functions

We first show that a bounded linear operator $ T $ on a real Banach space $ E $ is quasicompact (Riesz, respectively) if and only if $T': E_{mathbb{C}}longrightarrow E_{mathbb{C}}$ is quasicompact  (Riesz, respectively), where the complex Banach space $E_{mathbb{C}}$ is a suitable complexification of $E$ and $T'$ is the complex linear operator on $E_{mathbb{C}}$ associated with $T$. Next, we pr...

Weighted composition operators between Lipschitz algebras of complex-valued bounded functions

‎In this paper‎, ‎we study weighted composition operators between Lipschitz algebras of complex-valued bounded functions on metric spaces‎, ‎not necessarily compact‎. ‎We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the injectivity and the surjectivity of these operators‎. ‎We also obtain sufficient and necessary conditions for a weighted composition operator between these spaces to be compact.
